Road, Breakwater and VIC Parking Lot Work

  • Stockpiles materials have been leaving the site
  • Potential repairs to sidewalks and curbs upcoming (still to be determined)
  • We are working with the contractor to revisit breakwater design and ensure it aligns with what we decided on together.

DeGarthe Studio and Community Common Work

  • DeGarthe Studio is currently undergoing repairs to roof, sheathing, and floor beams.
  • The washroom area has been backfilled, with final grading still to come.
  • The walls and roof trusses for the washrooms have been installed.

Accessible Viewing Deck

  • The tender for construction of the Accessible Viewing Deck was released on January 15, 2021.
  • Develop Nova Scotia are coordinating a field visit with representatives of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre, as well as a botanist.
  • Updated renderings of the Viewing Deck will be shared with the community when receive them (hopefully by our next meeting)
  • We’re working on updated site maps to share with both the community and general public.

General Updates

  • A community meeting was held on Thursday, January 14. A written summary will be sent by email and by mail in the next couple of weeks.
