Please note that the seasonal Sea Bridge is now closed for the winter season. The Sea Bridge will reopen in the Spring when weather allows.
Please note that the Lower Water Street alternate route remains in place.
The Sea Bridge is 520 feet of floating dock on the Halifax waterfront that will be open seasonally as often as possible but may close for weather, sea state or construction. It will remain in place seasonally during the construction of Queen’s Marque and then be re-purposed for marina related uses.
Thousands have experienced this new feature on the waterfront. It is important to note however that the bridge provides an alternative option for pedestrians during construction but it’s not intended to be the primary pedestrian corridor. The Lower Water Street right of way, which is outside of our jurisdiction, is the approved primary corridor.
When Is It Open?
- The Sea Bridge is open seasonally 24/7. Please note that it may be required to close without notice and the hours may be adjusted as required.
- The Sea Bridge will be open seasonally as often as possible, but may close for weather, sea state or construction.
- Look for the Open or Closed signs near the main entrances to either side of the bridge as well as usage signs (please see the latter below). The bridge connects between The Cable Wharf South Side, and the Museum Wharf North (where CSS Acadia is berthed.)
