Carla Swansburg

Carla Swansburg is the Vice President and General Manager (Canada & Latin America) with Epiq Global. She leads Epiq’s business and operations in Canada and is leading the development of the business in Latin America. Epiq provides managed legal services including eDiscovery, business process outsourcing, legal operations, class action settlement administration and other support through its offices worldwide. Epiq is the largest global provider of eDiscovery services and a leader in the alternative legal services provider market.

Carla previously served as the Chief Innovation Officer for a large national law firm. Prior to that, she was a commercial litigator in private practice and then at one of Canada’s largest banks. Carla’s experience includes leading transformation and innovation projects, overseeing the implementation of emerging legal technologies in practice, and building high performing teams in new markets and services. Carla speaks regularly on topics relating to legal service delivery and technology. She has a B.A. in Theatre Studies (1989) and LLB/JD from Dalhousie University (1993), and an MBA from Rotman/University of Toronto (2018) where she graduated as a Bregman Scholar. She is passionate about supporting local businesses, mentoring legal technology start-ups and connecting people to great opportunities.

Carla grew up in the Annapolis Valley, and recently moved back home to Nova Scotia with her family, including two daughters (one currently at Dalhousie University and one at home), her husband Shane and their two big rescue dogs.
